Original WW2 German Black Wounds Badge Gold Grade

A Gold Grade award, first pattern, constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath with scalloped edges, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 37.82 mm (w) x 43.13 mm (h), weighing 8.4 grams, a quintessential example of an early variation commonly issued to Condor Legion personnel in near extremely fine condition.
